本州（宮城県）から記載された。ミヤコザサから採集されたが、詳しい生活史は不明。最近Okajima & Masmoto (2025)によってXylaplothrips属から移された。

This species was described from Honshu (Miyagi Pref.). It was collected from one of bamboo species, Sasa nipponica, but its life history remains unknown. It was recently transferred from the genus Xylaplothrips by Okajima & Masmoto (2025).
